- You are suffering from type 1 diabetes.
- You have symptoms of low blood sugar.
- You had diabetic complications such as diabetic ketoacidosis due to uncontrolled diabetes.
- You experience dehydration or have diarrhoea or fever, or if you are not able to eat or drink or if you are taking medicines that increase urine production, such as blood pressure.
- You are over 75 years old.
- You have a kidney, liver or heart disease.
- You have altered blood levels.
